“Getting a position of researcher in TESLA project is a life changing moment for me. I believe that this opportunity will take my career to the next level by getting higher education and industrial exposure at the same time under the horizon of TESLA.”
Abdul Sami, Public University of Navarre (UPNA), Navarre, Spain
Abdul Sami was born in Peshawar, Pakistan. He pursued his Bachelor´s degree in Electrical Engineering in 2013 from University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Peshawar. In 2015, he obtained his Master´s degree in Electrical Engineering from National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad. In October 2016, he was hired by Center for Intelligent Systems and Network Research (CISNR) at UET Peshawar as a research assistant for a research project named “Intelligent systems design/implementation of real time framework for detection of gas/oil leakage and theft using wireless sensor network” funded by Ignite (a government research funding organization). He worked there till November 2018. He also served as a visiting lecturer at UET Peshawar (Kohat Campus) from February 2018 to June 2019. In September 2019, he started his PhD at the Public University of Navarre (UPNA), as a part of the TESLA project H2020-MSCA-ITN.
The title of Abdul’s PhD is ,”Microwave and millimeter-wave components aiming for any easy fabrication”. This PhD research is more focused to develop new design techniques for microwave and millimeter-wave passive components for satellite applications. The new design techniques will produce prototypes robust against fabrication tolerances and consequently with high fabrication yield. Moreover, advanced waveguide filter realizations will be accomplished to improve the frequency response of the proposed devices.
